AI-Powered Patrol Cars – Features and Capabilities

Dubai’s futuristic patrol cars, developed by Micropolis Robotics, are engineered for a non-stop, 15-hour patrol regimen, thanks to their robust battery systems. Fareed Al Jawhari of Micropolis elucidates:

“We have custom made the entire mechanical system of this vehicle.”

The silent operational capability ensures minimal disturbance to residents while maintaining an unwavering watch over the neighborhood.

One of the standout features is the advanced security camera offering 360-degree coverage, equipped with facial recognition technology. These AI-powered police patrol cars can identify and respond to suspicious behavior, ensuring a rapid and efficient response.

Development and Design – Micropolis Robotics’ Contribution

With a development journey spanning five years and engaging 65 engineers, these autonomous cars are meticulously designed. Al Jawhari highlights their unique movement capabilities stating:

“Each wheel has an independent steering, braking, and throttle system. This means the vehicle can move forward, backward, sideways, and even perform donut moves.”

The vehicle’s top speed is 4.35 mph, ensuring safety while patrolling. If it spots something warranting further investigation, it swiftly sends an alert to the Command and Control Center at Dubai Police’s General Operations Department.

Deployment and Operation – Integration into Dubai’s Security Infrastructure

Expected to grace the streets by next year, these vehicles also come equipped with a camera-equipped drone capable of capturing aerial footage, augmenting the on-ground surveillance.

Dubai Police’s penchant for high-tech solutions isn’t new. The deployment of the first robocop and a fleet of supercars are testaments to the force’s innovative approach to law enforcement. With these AI-powered police patrol cars, Dubai Police elevates the city’s security, integrating advanced technology with traditional policing methods.

In Summary – The Future of AI in Policing

As the world watches, Dubai takes another audacious step into a future where technology and humanity coalesce seamlessly. These AI-powered patrol cars aren’t just a testament to the city’s innovative spirit but also a beacon illuminating the boundless possibilities that lie ahead in global security and surveillance.
